DALLAS - Spring has sprung. Summer is right around the corner. What better way to soak up the sun with a trip to the park?

Klyde Warren, however, is not your average park.

Klyde Warren Park, is a natural park in the heart of Downtown Dallas.

But even though it is located in a busy city, Klyde Warren park provides calmness and relaxation to residents like 16-year-old Merrily Garcia.

“It’s an amazing spot to bring friends and family members, especially when you want to just catch up or have a bite,” Garcia said. “There’s a lot of free activities. I would definitely recommend this place to someone.”

It is easy to spot people doing a variety of things at the park, such as families and friends hosting picnics, or stretching out the Ginsburg Family Great Lawn while reading a good book.

People are even seen simply comfortably napping on the park’s bright-green grass with the gorgeous Dallas skyline behind them.

But there is more to the park than relaxation and reflection. There’s fun!

Klyde Warren Park fulfills every child’s fantasy with a treehouse, monkey bars, a climbing tunnel, and more at The Children’s Park. Children can play at The Children’s Park which is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (extended to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). It is cleaned frequently.

In addition to The Children’s Park is a dog park. Dog owners can take their furry friends to My Best Friend’s Park on the East Lawn where they can cool down in the fountain, make new friends or run free in

No matter the age, anyone can let out his or her inner kid at heart. The park offers games like bean bag toss, a giant connect four and enough space to play a friendly game of tag. People can also break a sweat with the park’s fitness activities. Activities include boot camps, yoga, tai chi, Zumba, and even ballroom dancing.

And the best part? It’s all free.

But of course, being active means fueling up and getting nutrients, which is why there are several delicious food trucks that offer affordable meals.

Whether wanting a bite to eat, relax, or have fun, Klyde Warren Park has something for everyone, including tourists like Kansas-native Jamie Woods.

“This park makes me feel great,” Woods said. “It’s cool seeing everybody out here enjoying the nice weather and having fun. The last year has been pretty hectic so seeing people outside and enjoying it is pretty cool.”
